Terms of Service

NLern is a subscription web app that helps people living in the Netherlands learn practical Dutch: vocabulary, verbs, level-appropriate practice, and pronunciation feedback, at CEFR levels A2, B1 and B2.

You can sign in with Google, Facebook, or a one-time email link. You’re responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Accounts are personal and not for shared or resale use.

New subscriptions include a 3-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, we begin billing the subscription price shown at signup (currently €5.99/month) on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

You can cancel anytime from your profile. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. We don’t provide partial-period refunds, except where required by law.

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.

Use NLern for your own language learning. Don’t attempt to scrape, resell, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service, and don’t use it for anything unlawful.

NLern’s vocabulary, exercises, and explanations are our content, licensed to you for personal, non-commercial learning use while you have an active account. Anything you save (progress, saved words, pronunciation history) stays yours; you can request an export or deletion at any time.

You can stop using NLern and cancel your subscription whenever you like. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or abusive.

NLern is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service or that it will meet every learning outcome. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.

We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change is material, we’ll let you know (e.g. by email) before it takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
